Tangible possibility

"...often the reason we don't get what we want is that the actual, tangible possibility of actually getting it -- as opposed to merely fantasizing about it -- raises hidden feelings and issues within us.

When we don't have love in our lives, we often fantasize about how great we'd feel if we met the perfect partner. In the safety of our dreams, however, we often forget about our reaction to that person. In fact, if we met the perfect person, our own insecurities and jealousies might lead us to destroy what we had once we'd gotten it."
